7 Ways to Have the Berry Best Summer

With just 11 short weeks from the time school ends to the time the kids go back to school, you need to make the most of this time.  Longer, warmer days lend to fun in the sun.  We've put together seven super ideas to help you have the berry best summer ever.  Plus we've found links to hundreds of other ideas for summer fun.

Make a Summer Bucket List
Making lists help you accomplish more.  According to psychologist and author Dr David Cohen, "Our love of to-do lists helps dampen anxiety about the chaos of life; they give us a structure, a plan that we can stick to; and they are proof of what we have achieved that day, week or month."

Attend a Music Festival or Outdoor Concert
There's nothing that makes you feel better than a great day and great music.  And there is science behind it. A number of studies show music impacts our overall health of listeners. Researchers have found that people who listen to upbeat music have happier perceptions of life.  Music has the ability to change our brain chemistry.  Music causes dopamine to release in our brain.  Dopamine is the feel-good hormone that makes you feel happy.

Go to an Outdoor Movie or Drive In
All over the country communities are beginning to host outdoor movies.  Why do we love them so much.  Well for one thing, they are free and we can bring our own popcorn and treats.  They also give us an opportunity to enjoy nature. We feel a sense of community visiting with friends and neighbors during the movie.  In addition to all of this we can also bring our pets.

Eat Berry Desserts
Summer is the perfect time to eat berry anything, especially desserts.  Berries have so many health benefits. Research has recently shown that cooking with Aroniaberries doesn’t impact the overall antioxidants and nutrition, so bake a way with our Superberries Frozen Aroniaberries.  Here’s a link to our Superberries Berry Delicious Recipe Board on Pinterest. Because aroniaberries are tart, you may need to add extra sweetener like honey to the recipe.

Cook Over A Campfire
Campfires aren’t just for s'mores.  Cook a whole meal of chicken, corn on the cob and veggies in a grill pan over the open flames.  You’ll love the smoked flavor of the meat and veggies.  And did you know that hanging out in front of the campfire is good for you.  According to researchers at the University of Alabama, watching a fire may lower blood pressure.

Hike to a Favorite Place
Plan a hike to a beautiful place. Being outdoors can boost your energy and also your Vitamin D intake.  Plus being outdoors is instant aromatherapy.  Research has also shown that being outside can help us restore our focus.

Be a Tourist for A Day
Pick a place that you want to go. It can be a trek to see the biggest ball of yarn or a local attraction you’ve been wanting to see.  Make sure you dress the part and take lots of pictures.  Did you know looking at photos of family trips and happy times can make you even more happier.
