You've waited for this vacation all year long, but getting ready to go has you overwhelmed.  Don’t despair, get the whole family involved in the preparation and packing. Make it a super fun process that will have your whole family pitching in to help.

Make a Vacation Planner– Get an empty journal or 3 ring binder and have each family member select a few things they would like to do while on vacation.  Have them print web pages or clip pictures out of travel brochures.  For younger kids, go online and help them select their favorite activities.

Learn Something New – Take a class, a lesson or plan an activity that will help you alleviate any fears about the activities you will be participating in while on vacation.  If you are going snorkeling, take a snorkeling class.  There are lots of clubs that host special programs to help educate the public on a variety of topics.  Attend one of the sessions and connect with one of the club members.

Create Family Vacation T-Shirts – Name your family vacation and create matching t-shirts, i.e. The Clarks in the Caribbean.  Have the kids help with the design.  Select colorful shirts that you can wear on the busiest days of vacation.  You will be able to keep track of your family in crowded tourist attractions.

Buy A New Toy – Whether it is a floatie, a new video for the car, new camping gear, or a new toy/gadget give the kids and you something to look forward to either during travels or when you arrive at your vacation destination.

Create a Camping Tub – If camping is something you plan on doing several times during the summer.  Buy a few plastic totes (that will fit in your vehicle) and load your supplies.  If you are leaving Friday after work you can pack the tubs during the week and be already to hit the road.

Vacation Scavenger Hunt    Buy essentials for your beach or lake vacation (flip flops, beach towels, beach bag, sun screen, sunglasses, water bottles, disposable underwater cameras, pool floats, diving pool toys, sand castle building kits, etc) and create a scavenger hunt.  It will be a great way to get a start on packing.

Pack For Each Day – Get 1 gallon zip lock bags and pack the essentials for each day. This will help the kids and adults make sure they packed enough clothes and socks if needed.

Create a Snack Box  - Buy plastic Lunch Boxes for each kid and fill with healthy snacks like Superberries Aroniaberry Gummy Chews, granola bars, fruit roll ups and apple sauce squeeze pouches.  When the kids ask how much longer, you can break out the snack boxes to help make the trip go faster.  Also pack Superberries Aroniaberry+ Daily Wellness Shots to help keep the whole family healthy and happy on the trip.
