Aroniaberry Pina Colada Smoothie

We've modified Juicing King Reboot with Joe's Recipe for a Pina Colada Smoothie by adding our Superberries Aronia berries.  This recipe is high in fiber, particularly if you choose to add in a slightly green banana or plantain. These fruits are called resistance starch which means it passes through the stomach and small intestine undigested providing great fiber. Aronia berries are also high in fiber. Or try our Aroniaberry Concentrate. 


INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup water or coconut water
  • 1/8 fresh pineapple (or ½ cup of frozen pineapple)
  • 1/2 frozen banana (optional to use a slightly green banana)
  • 1 tbsp shredded coconut
  • 1 handful of ice
  • 1-2 tsp. rice malt or maple syrup (optional)
  • Add 1/2 cup of Frozen Aronia berries or a tablespoon of Aronia Concentrate after the original ingredients to make a beautiful two tone smoothie.

DIRECTIons: 

  1.  Wash all produce well.
  2. Remove rind and chop the pineapple.
  3. Add all ingredients except Aronia berries to the blender and blend on high for 45 – 60 seconds until smooth.
  4. Pour half into two glasses.
  5. Add 1/2 cup of Aroniaberries to the rest of the smoothie mixture in the blender. Blend.
  6. Top the smoothie glasses with the Aroniaberry mixture.
