Aroniaberry Cherry Pie

Aroniaberry Cherry PieOne of our favorite stories about our first president George Washington and the cherry tree is unfortunately fake news.  The myth has it that when George was six years old, he got his first ax as a gift.  Like any young kid, George tested his ax out on one of his father’s cherry trees.  When his father discovered his fallen tree, he confronted the young George.  The famous quote, “I cannot lie, it was I who chopped down the cherry tree,” supposedly came from this confrontation.

Because of this story, the cherry tree and cherry pie have become a favorite recipe to feature during Presidents' Day celebrating Washington and Lincoln's Birthday.  We've put our Superberries spin on this Cherry Pie Recipe.
