Governor Heineman Proclaims May as Aroniaberry  Month in Nebraska

Omaha, NE -- Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman has issued a statewide proclamation declaring May as Aroniaberry Month in Nebraska.  The proclamation was announced Wednesday, May 11th in the State Capitol in Lincoln, NE.  The proclamation highlights Aronia’s link to Nebraska along with the agricultural significance.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank Governor Heineman for the recognition of the Aroniaberry and its amazing health and wellness properties,”  said Aroniaberry enthusiast and Superberries founder, Kenny  Sailors.   “We are at the forefront of improving the health of Nebraskans and the rest of the nation by creating awareness about the Aroniaberry, one of nature’s super fruits that is grown in and native to Nebraska.”

Sailors  is a pioneer in bringing awareness to the Aroniaberry as well as bringing products that contain Aronia to Nebraska.  His journey began in the mid 90s, when he learned of the amazing health and wellness benefits of the Aroniaberry, known as Nature’s Healer and Protector. Excited by his discovery of this little known super fruit, he devoted himself to learning all he could about this powerful berry.  Before long he was planting Aroniaberry bushes and dedicating most of his time to cultivating them.

Inspired by the berry’s potential, Kenny began selling products containing Aroniaberries under the Superberries® brand name in a small store in Omaha, Nebraska. The business grew rapidly, primarily through word-of-mouth; one customer telling another customer about their health and wellness experience.  Sailors partnered with Westin Foods to form Mae’s Health and Wellness, LLC.  Superberries products are now available throughout North America.

The increasing popularity of the Aroniaberry and public interest in eating healthy continues to drive the interest in Aronia as a commercial farming crop in Nebraska. Because the plant can withstand harsh winters it is an ideal crop for Nebraska.  The Aronia plant is native to Nebraska and was originally utilized by the Native Americans.  Generations later, the Aroniaberry disappeared from North America only to resurface in Eastern Europe where its popularity grew.  Today, the Aroniaberry is taking center stage among super fruits, making its way into diets of those who seek foods with multiple benefits for our body.

Superberries is a brand of health and wellness product featuring Nature’s Healer and Protector – the Aroniaberry.  Superberries has developed a product line including:  Freshly Frozen Aroniaberries, (100%  Pure) Aroniaberry Concentrate, and Aroniaberry Gummy Chews. Superberries is headquartered in Omaha, NE.
